At Dreamforce 19, Trailblazer Community team kicked off Brunch Dreamin’ – an event where all the amazing Dreamin event leaders were invited under one roof for celebrating their success, networking, and fun. Being the founder of one of such events – India Dreamin’ -the largest community dreamin event in the world, I recognize and applaud the efforts placed by the Trailblazers who are converting dreams into realities and hence this inspired me to come up with the idea of sharing amazing stories of these trailblazers. I hope this blog series will help Salesforce Ohana know more about these events, their organizers and the communities that they drive and support.
If you help to organize a Dreamin event and I have not reached out to you yet for this series, please message me on twitter. Q. What event do you help run and what is your role in it?
For the last two years, I have been on the WITness Success Core Team, and I am in charge of Sponsorships. Previously, I was on the India Dreamin team, acting as a liaison between US and Indian attendees/speakers.
Q. What have you learned from being a part of WITness Success and India Dreamin?
Being involved in the core team of two community events has given me a behind the scenes and up-close look into the true passion that drives the entire Salesforce community. During my time on the India Dreamin team, the team members and volunteers worked TIRELESSLY to pull off the biggest Dreamin event, ensuring the event’s attendees and speakers have a seamless experience. My experience with the WITness Success team has been the same. The people who volunteer their time to put on these events are passionate and hardworking and do so because it’s how we give back to a community that has given us so much.
Q. Top 5 reasons why one should attend a Dreamin event?
- Learn- Attend sessions, talk to vendors in a relaxed environment
- Network- Meet all those Twitter connections in person, make connections with partners, ISVs, etc
- Volunteer- These events need your help! Volunteer to check people in, help speakers, anything!
- Save Money- Regional events are affordable if the larger SF events aren’t in your budget.
- Inspiration- Conversations, sessions, environment all lend to reinvigorate and can really inspire one to hone their own session ideas, craft their next career move or make some close friendships!
Q. What has been your most memorable Dreamin experience to date?
Hands down, India Dreamin! It was my first time in India, and that in itself was a memorable experience! More than that though, seeing, in person, not only the sheer number of attendees but the overwhelming passion for Salesforce and community touched my heart!
Q. What type of event organizer are you?
1. The Natural – Calm under pressure
2. The Strategist – With an eye for details
3. The Wizard – Pulls off the impossible
4. The Trailblazer – Sets the trend
This is a hard question. I’m definitely NOT “The Natural,” but maybe a combo of the rest.
Q. Any details you want to share specifically about your event?
WITness Success is planned for July 24 & 25 in Minneapolis. While it is a Women In Tech-focused, I would like to invite all to attend. We are very ally focused and would love to see more allies support the event and attend this year! As of this writing, we are still planning on moving forward with the event and are still looking for sponsors! Please connect with me if you are interested.
